Scarban C-Section is a silicone scar therapy specially developed for C-Section aftercare. Scarban® C-Section was created to help reduce or prevent abnormal scarring after a caesarean section. The pack contains an anatomically shaped silicone sheet which provides optimal and effective scar aftercare. A cleanser and instruction booklet are also included.

Silicone is used to help to fade, flatten and accelerate the maturation process of a scar which, if left untreated,
could take upwards of 2 years to reach its strongest point. It works by blocking the loss of water from the scar surface once it has healed and any scabs have fallen off. Occlusion such as this tricks the body into thinking that it has already made the scar fully waterproof, and stops producing the excess collagen associated with scarring.
The gel dressing is worn for increasingly longer durations each day, up to a maximum of 23 hours a day. When removed, it is washed under running water with a little of the cleansing solution included in the pack. Normally, a single dressing is expected to work for 8 to 10 weeks before it needs to be replaced and many patients will have achieved wound stability within that time period
